Biography

Dr. Wade Danis concentrates his research and teaching on global strategic management, international comparative management and international entrepreneurship, particularly in the context of emerging economies. His entrepreneurship interests focus on those firms that started in an international context, often described as “born global” firms, and on how and why entrepreneurial activities differ across national contexts.

Through his recent research, Wade hopes to better understand and share knowledge about how entrepreneurs identify and pursue international opportunities, in order to help nations better understand how they can promote international entrepreneurship and become more competitive in the world economy. Wade has published numerous scholarly articles in journals such as Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of International Business Studies, International Business Review, Management International Review, Journal of World Business, Journal of Business Ethics and European Management Journal, and has been awarded several competitive research grants. He is also an active member of the Academy of Management and the Academy of International Business.

Wade has lived and worked in the US, Canada, Hungary and Poland, has lead student-focused study-programs in Latin America, Europe and Asia, and has consulted for large and small organizations in North America and Europe.

Prior to joining the Peter B. Gustavson School of Business in 2011, Wade served on the business school faculties of Georgia State University and Marquette University.
