I am Confederated Tribes of Siletz (Tututni) on my mother’s side and Irish on my father’s. I am an uninvited guest on Lək̓ʷəŋən territory and extremely grateful for the opportunity to live and work here. My pronouns are they/them. My research and teaching interests are situated in the intersections of Rhetorical studies, Indigenous Studies, and Science and Technology Studies. My research has asked how researchers grounded in Western science practices engage with Indigenous knowledge holders and how these engagements can be undertaken in ways that open space for the rethinking/reshaping of research in the Western sciences and STEM education more generally.

I joined the ATWP in 2022, and teach a variety of courses in first-year writing, engineering, and business communication. In my role as a teaching faculty and engineering communication course coordinator, I facilitate student’s exploration of accessible design and bringing good intentions to the design process. Currently, I am focused on building educational opportunities for engineering and computer science students to engage with local Indigenous communities to understand local community design and engineering needs.
