Bio

Born and raised in Montreal, I completed my BA at Concordia University in Women’s Studies and History.  For my MA, I studied at the University of Toronto’s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. To expand my mind and knowledge, I felt compelled to get out of central Canada and chose the University of Victoria for my studies at the doctoral level.  It has all been an enormous gift.

My thematic interests include race/racism, antiracism, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, colonialism and decolonization, children, youth, age, animals and social justice. As a Canadianist and Europeanist by training, my work centers on understanding this nation’s history and connecting it to world developments.

A collection of factsheets and art projects that distill rich academic works into accessible content.

Antiracist History and Theory

The video is a lecture over power point which condenses a fascinating history of the idea of race and theories of racialization, an overview of how racism functions in society as well as a discussion of anti-racist strategies.  Seven to nine minutes are devoted to each theme.
