WASHINGTON (Gray DC) - Congress returns to Capitol Hill on Tuesday with multiple budget hearings scheduled during this short week.

It’s Grammy’s on The Hill Week. FKA Twigs and other musicians will testify in the House and Senate this week.

Members of the House will attend a funeral for Rep. Donald Payne Jr. (D-NJ).

Payne passed away at the age of 65 last week. He was recovering from a heart attack he suffered earlier this month.

Payne took office in 2012 to replace his father, Donald Payne Sr., who also died in office as well.

Payne’s funeral is scheduled for Thursday in Newark.

The House will have a National Prayer Day event on Thursday before breaking for the week to allow members to attend the funeral.

Former President Donald Trump will split time between campaigning and court this week. He is expected in court in Manhattan Tuesday, Thursday and Friday this week.

President Joe Biden will host a state dinner Thursday honoring the Teacher of the Year. The Teachers of the Year from all 50 states are invited, which includes the national Teacher of the Year, an ESL teacher from Tennessee.

First Lady Jill Biden -- an educator of more than 30 years -- has made education a key part of her platform as First Lady.
