The Gray Television Washington News Bureau covers live breaking news, politics, and in-depth investigations for Gray TV’s 113 television markets. Our team of multimedia journalists, producers, and photojournalists cover Congress, the White House, Supreme Court, and more.

The bureau’s regional team works closely with stations, covering issues directly impacting viewers in their markets.

The national team reports on domestic and foreign issues affecting the entire country. It often travels with the President as he meets with world leaders overseas. Plus, it delivers feature stories and solutions-based franchises. “Listening to America” travels the country, highlighting important issues that matter to voters, while “The Good Side” features inspiring people making a difference in their communities.

InvestigateTV exposes corruption, injustices and scams affecting Gray’s viewers. Its award-winning reporting is creating change, recently sparking new legislation on Capitol Hill.

The Washington Bureau was created in 2014. As the number of Gray TV stations grew, so did the bureau. In 2017, the company opened a state-of-the-art newsroom and studio on Capitol Hill, giving our team easy access to the lawmakers we cover while increasing our broadcast capabilities.

Local News Live, Gray’s 24/7 live national news network, moved to the Washington News Bureau in 2022. It provides live coverage from Gray’s 113 markets, allowing viewers to watch stories from across the country on one platform. It covers the day’s top stories with a local perspective from journalists who live in the communities they cover.

The Washington News Bureau is committed to serving Gray communities across the country. Politicians know when they speak to our reporters, they have a direct line of communication to their constituents. Gray’s powerhouse stations collectively reach approximately 36 percent of U.S. television households.
