The District Energy Plant contains heating infrastructure for the University of Victoria (UVic).
History
The District Energy Plant was completed in 2019. It was built to replace the existing plants that reached the end of their operational lives and required refurbishment or replacing. The plant provides increased capacity and efficiency to UVic's heating system.
The new building demonstrates UVic’s commitment to leadership in sustainability through various strategies including: rainwater-harvesting, use of structure wood, and high efficiency glazing.
