Plan a reunion

Alumni reunions offer grads an opportunity to reconnect, reflect and relive shared experiences from their time at the University of Victoria (or Victoria College).

Some parts of campus may have changed a little, like the pub or the gym, but the beauty of the surroundings and good memories endure. Reunions help you reflect and reminisce about the time you spent learning, growing, laughing and making memories at UVic.

Types of reunions

Class reunions

Class reunions are organized around bringing together people with the same degree and year of graduation. For example, Class of 1983 Bachelor of Social Work or Class of 2002 Master of Business Administration.

It’s common for classes to organize a reunion based on milestone anniversaries e.g., 10-, 25-, 40- or 50-year reunion.

Affinity reunions

Affinity reunions are based on a common interest or identity that was part of the UVic experience. For example, student clubs, residence buildings, sports teams, etc.

Reunion planning

Planning well in advance – such as 1 year ahead – is key to a successful reunion event. The Alumni Relations office can provide support and services for a limited number of reunions each year, provided we receive a minimum of 6 months’ notice.

Reunion planning steps

  1. Identify a reunion champion or class organizer
  2. Set up a working committee of volunteers to help organize the reunion
  3. Decide on the type and format of the event
  4. Determine cost and registration process
  5. Create an invite list and send out invitations
