How to send an official transcript
Important note
UVic will only accept an official transcript if it is sent directly to us by the issuing organization. Transcripts sent by applicants are not considered official.
Canadian high schools
Arrange for the Ministry of Education to send your official electronic transcript to UVic via StudentTranscripts Service (STS). You'll receive further instructions after you submit your application to UVic.
Arrange for Alberta Education to send your official transcript to UVic via myPass.
Arrange for the International Baccalaureate Organization to send your official transcript to UVic electronically.
- If you're a current high school student and provided your OUAC reference number, your official transcript will be sent to us automatically.
- If you do not have an OUAC reference number, have your school send your official transcript to admsscanning@uvic.ca or the address below.
- If you are not a current high school student, arrange for your previous high school to send your official transcript to admsscanning@uvic.ca or the address below.
Arrange for your CEGEP institution or Grade 12-equivalent high school to send your official transcript to admsscanning@uvic.ca or the address below.
Arrange for your official transcript to be sent from your provincial ministry of education if your high school is in:
- Newfoundland and Labrador
- Northwest Territories
- Nunavut
- Saskatchewan
- Yukon Territory
Arrange for your official transcript to be sent from your high school if it is in:
- Manitoba
- New Brunswick
- Nova Scotia
- Prince Edward Island
Your official transcript must be sent directly to admsscanning@uvic.ca or the address below.
International high schools
If your official transcript is written in a language other than English or French, it must also include a notarized English translation by a certified translator.
Arrange for the International Baccalaureate Organization to send your official transcript to UVic electronically.
Arrange for your high school to send your official transcript to UVic via Parchment, SCOIR, by email to admsscanning@uvic.ca or to the address below.
Arrange for your ministry of education, educational institution or issuing authority to send your official transcript to admsscanning@uvic.ca or the address below.
Post-secondary institutions
If your official transcript is written in a language other than English or French, it must also include a notarized English translation by a certified translator.
Arrange for your post-secondary institution to send your official transcript electronically to admsscanning@uvic.ca or by mail/courier to the address below.
Undergraduate Admissions addresses
Official transcripts should be sent electronically whenever possible, but we will also accept transcripts by mail or by courier. We will not accept transcripts any other way.

Returning transcripts
We do not usually return transcripts. If your official transcript is irreplaceable, it may be returned to you upon written request.
