Lockdown lifted in La Vergne, suspect remains at large

LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The La Vergne Police Department temporarily locked down City Hall and the Public Library as they searched for a suspect who fled a crash on foot Thursday morning.

La Vergne Police officers were looking for a suspect who crashed his vehicle near the Public Library on Murfreesboro Road and 73rd Avenue. LVPD said the man ran away from officers following a vehicle pursuit that began in Smyrna.

The suspect is described as a Black male wearing a black mask, khaki pants, a green sweatshirt, and no shoes.

Anyone who sees anything suspicious is asked to call 911 immediately.
