NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Rain hangs around parts of the Mid State early this morning but will taper off, for the most part, by the afternoon.
The only thing I cannot rule out is a leftover shower in the Cumberland Plateau.
We should slowly get some sunshine back today with highs in the upper 70s to near 80 this afternoon. Tonight will be cooler with lows in the mid to upper 50s by tomorrow morning.

SUMMER-LIKE TEMPERATURES
We’ll crank the temperature up into the upper 80s on both Wednesday and Thursday, and I wouldn’t even rule out one or two spots making a run at 90 on one or both days. It will be slightly muggy each afternoon, but not overly humid.
With just a few afternoon clouds expected each day, there will be plenty of sunshine for us to enjoy.
NEXT ROUND OF RAIN
Our next storm system will move into the Mid State late Thursday night and into Friday with scattered showers and a few rumbles of thunder expected. There is no severe weather risk to be concerned about, but you will want to keep the umbrella during the day on Friday.
Temperatures on Friday will drop back into the 70s.
THIS WEEKEND
I’m not ruling out a leftover shower on Saturday so be sure to keep an eye on the sky throughout the day. Any rain shower would be isolated and wouldn’t be anything to wash out any plans that you may have. Highs on Saturday will be back in the lower 80s.
We’ll see some more sunshine on Sunday with temperatures back in the mid-80s for the afternoon. An isolated shower still cannot be ruled out, but most of u stay dry.
More rain is expected early next week.
