NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - After some widespread rain this morning, showers will continue off and on through our Friday afternoon, so you’ll want to keep that umbrella handy.

Don’t be surprised if you hear a couple of rumbles of thunder, but we are not expecting any severe weather with any storm. That being said, any storm could have a nice downpour to go with it.

It will be a cooler afternoon with highs back in the 70s for the day.

THIS WEEKEND

Watch for a leftover shower on Saturday, but we should find some good dry time in the afternoon with highs back in the low 80s.

Sunday will be mostly dry until late in the day when we have another chance of a pop-up shower or thunderstorm in parts of the Mid State. Highs on Sunday will top off in the mid 80s.

NEXT WEEK

More showers and storms will develop on Monday with temperatures well into the 80s again in the afternoon.

We should mostly be dry on Tuesday but have a tough time with the cloud cover during the day. Tuesday will be breezy with highs in the upper 80s.

More rain and storms for the middle of the week with temperatures holding steady in the 80s.
