2023 Music City Bowl brought more than $20 million to Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The 2023 Music City Bowl brought Nashville more than $20 million in a game that featured Maryland and Auburn.

The 31-13 victory for the Terps over the Tigers generated $23 million in direct economic impact on Nashville’s economy.

• Attendance: A total of 24,363 room nights were occupied during the bowl festivities, reflecting the strong support from both residents and out-of-town visitors. Notably, 70% of the attendees hailed from out of town, highlighting the bowl’s wide-reaching appeal beyond Nashville.
• Attendee Spending: Out-of-town attendees contributed significantly to the local economy, with an average daily spending of $242.79. Meanwhile, in-town attendees also made notable contributions, reporting a daily spending of $205.74.

The more than $23 million is the third most since 2018 as Tennessee versus Purdue brought Nashville more than $32 million in 2021 and Purdue versus Auburn brought the city more than $24 million in 2018.
