FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WSMV) - A woman said she isn’t quite sure what happens when she accidently crashed into her sister’s house.
Hyun Kim said she was sure her foot was on the brake when her car suddenly sped up and crashed into the house.
“I was very nervous. I didn’t understand what happened,” Kim said.
The aftermath of the crash still doesn’t make sense to Kim.
“I went to stop by my sister’s house to bring her something,” Kim said.
She said she was turning out of a roundabout and into her sister’s driveway when everything went black.
“When I go to park, I went through the circle, and suddenly I was pushing the brakes, but suddenly it was going to fast with speed,” Kim said. “Go inside. I kept going and going and going inside. I broke through the wall. Everything was broken down.
She sped off the road, over a set of steps and crashed into the base of her sister’s house on Beauchamp Circle.
“I don’t know what happened,” Kim said. “My car was suddenly going faster suddenly. In just a few minutes, and it just kept going.”
A neighbor heard the commotion.
“I was sitting at my desk working, and I heard a loud vehicle engine roar,” Ruben Madrid said. “When I ran out, I realized what happened.”
Madrid said he immediately saw the tail of a car sticking out of the side of the home, and then he heard Kim’s voice.
“He called 911. I didn’t know what to do,” Kim said.
“Just trying to make sure that everybody was safe,” Madrid said.
Firefighters were able to pull the car out and board up the home. They said no one was inside the house at the time of the crash. Kim wasn’t hurt, but she is still in shock.
“I’m always careful driving, so I don’t know what happened today,” Kim said.
Franklin Police made no mention of Kim being under the influence and instead said they believe the crash was just a freak accident.
