TEMPLE, Texas, (KWTX/Gray News) - Two people were killed after an oversized load detached from its trailer and pinned a vehicle underneath, according to Texas authorities.

Officials said they responded to a crash involving an 18-wheeler around 11:20 a.m., on Saturday.

When first responders arrived, they found an oversized load, weighing 350,000 pinned on top of a vehicle with three people inside, KWTX reported.

Authorities said two people suffered fatal injuries and the third person was extracted from the vehicle with life-threatening injuries.

It took over four hours to safely remove the driver from the vehicle, according to KWTX.

Police have not said what caused the crash but did say multiple vehicles were involved.
