NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Hundreds of people should be getting refunds in Nashville after the city found a second company has been booting people illegally.
The company was allegedly booting people without a license for seven months. Now, Apex Parking Enforcement will be on probation until they offer everyone a refund that they booted during that time.
This applies to people who were booted in a lot in Edgehill Village between June 2023 and January 2024. The owner of Apex, Cliff Wharton, previously told WSMV 4 Investigates that he boots about five cars a week in that lot.
In a recent disciplinary hearing, Wharton told the city that he sent his permit application to the wrong address and then forgot to follow up. Devin Majors is the person who filed the complaint against the company.
“Based on this committee’s precedent, I am seeking sanctions equal to similarly situated booting companies that have been punished for operating without a license,” Majors said during the hearing.
Majors was talking about Nashville Booting Company, which WSMV 4 Investigates first uncovered was also operating without a permit earlier this year. The commission made them refund everyone too following our reporting.
