Microsoft released Windows 95 and with it they shipped a client for the Microsoft Network (MSN). They didn't really understand the significance of the Internet, but thought that there would be several parallell worldwide networks. People protested against MSN because when you used it for the first time, the software sent some vital information about your computer system to Microsoft...


The Microsoft Network never really took off.

At the school of engineering most people didn't want to be seen with a web browser window on their screen. I guess it was too simple a tool for the techie know-hows. How would they be able to show off their bravery when just about anybody could conquer the new world of computer networking?
