The University of Geneva’s Executive Master of Advanced Studies in Finance (GEMFIN), offered by the Geneva Finance Research Institute, is delighted to have been awarded the globally recognised Certificate in ESG Investing by the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute. The CFA Institute is the global association of investment professionals that sets the standard for professional excellence and credentials.

In today’s world, being able to incorporate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into investment decisions has become an increasingly important skill for anyone working in the investment industry. In this regard, the GEMFIN programme offers courses on Sustainable Finance, Impact Investing, and Philanthropy.

Dr Michal Paserman, co-director of the GEMFIN, said: “ESG is not an option anymore. It is a critical and prominent part of our agenda, across all sectors. This has changed the mix of skills demanded from financial professionals.  At the University of Geneva, we strive to offer the highest quality and most relevant teaching and research standards to our participants through a rigorous curriculum. This recognition is a testament to our commitment to support the next generation of financial leaders who will champion future growth and make a difference in the financial sector”.

The CFA Institute is the global association of investment professionals whose mission is to lead the investment profession globally by promoting the highest standards of ethics, education, and professional excellence for the ultimate benefit of society.

Highly personalised and flexible, the GEMFIN programme allows participants to pursue their studies full-time over one year, or part-time, tailored to the needs of working professionals.

The GEMFIN works in partnership with the University of Geneva’s Centre for Banking and Financial Law (CDBF) at the Faculty of Law, and the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association (CAIA). The quality of the programme has been recognised by the CFA and CAIA, of which the GEMFIN is a partner.
