The 2024 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings rated UVic:

  • 3rd in Canada for university contributions to the United Nations' SDGs, out of 2159 institutions

World-leading UVic climate research gets a $4M boost

Two international project teams led by the University of Victoria received nearly $4 million in federal support to advance climate solutions. 

Collaborating across disciplines

The interdisciplinary expertise within UVic research centres, institutes and entities is making a positive impact across the region and around the globe. 

Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions (PICS)

PICS is a multi-university institute—including UVic, SFU, UBC and UNBC—that co-develops and co-delivers climate solutions research and programming with diverse partners across BC and beyond.

International Training Centre for Authorities & Leaders (CIFAL)

CIFAL Victoria provides United Nations-accredited training programs that build regional and global capacity and leadership to advance the UN's SDGs.
