Student Alternative Theatre Company

SATCo is theatre by students, for students. It is an outlet for Department of Theatre students to independently produce theatre in a safe, peer-supported atmosphere. They encourage the development of new works as well as experimentation with existing ones. Students organize all aspects of the production process and run the company as Staff and Board members.

SATCo 2023

SATCo produces six short plays a year, throughout the fall and spring terms. Performances take place at 12:45pm in the Barbara McIntyre Studio at the Phoenix Theatre. Admission is by donation and open to all audiences. For more information, visit their website or social channels.

Theatre Course Union (TCU)

The Theatre Course Union is a group of elected students who represent the student body of the Department of Theatre. TCU serves as a mediator for student concerns and acts as a liaison between students, faculty, and staff in the Department of Theatre.

TCU also organizes events for theatre students that build a sense of community within the Department of Theatre. All event proceeds go towards supporting the TCU’s emergency bursary program. Events include: a Meet and Greet for new students, the Halloween Celebration, Holiday Coffee House, Valentine’s Day Auction, and End of Year Party (in conjunction with the Department).
