UPDATE: The TABC has released the following statement to WSMV4 on Tuesday, March 19:

“The TABC is continuing to investigate whether any violation of state alcohol law occurred regarding Riley Strain on March 8, 2024. The TABC has worked with local law enforcement to determine where he was served alcohol that night. All licensed establishments questioned have been cooperative. The final report will be made public once the investigation has been closed.”

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Luke’s 32 Bridge, Luke Bryan’s Broadway bar, claims missing University of Missouri student Riley Strain was only served one alcoholic beverage before he was kicked out of the bar.

Strain, 22, was in Nashville for a fraternity trip before stumbling around downtown, seemingly intoxicated, and disappearing on March 8. He’s been missing ever since.

“During Riley’s visit to Luke’s 32 Bridge, our records show he purchased and was served one alcoholic drink and two waters,” TC Restaurant Group and Luke’s 32 Bridge said in a statement. “At 9:35 p.m., our security team made a decision based on our conduct standards to escort him from the venue through our Broadway exit at the front of our building. He was followed down the stairs with one member of his party. The individual with Riley did not exit and returned upstairs.”

Law enforcement has focused their search efforts on the Cumberland River, near where his phone last pinged off a cell tower. The bar said it has been forthcoming with surveillance video to help authorities investigate.

The Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission announced this week it is investigating whether Strain was overserved. TABC declined to comment when asked by WSMV4 Friday afternoon whether it was investigating other Broadway bars for overserving Riley Strain.

“In our effort to help the Nashville Metro Police Department’s Missing Persons investigation of Riley Strain, we proactively provided detailed information quickly after his visit to our business on March 8,” TC Restaurant Group and Luke’s 32 Bridge said. “This information included all security camera footage, photos of Riley at our establishment with detailed time stamps, transaction records, and staff accounts. Additionally, we proactively engaged in communication with the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission and will continue to communicate and provide any records needed to aid their ongoing investigation.”
