Man accidentally shoots himself while trying to break into Madison home, police say
The suspect was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

MADISON, Tenn. (WMSV) – An armed burglary suspect accidentally shot himself while trying to break into a Madison home on Saturday night, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.
Police responded to a reported shooting on Garner Avenue at about 7:30 p.m. Police on scene said the suspect “gained entry” to the home and then accidentally shot himself while being confronted by a homeowner.
The suspect shot himself in the legs or feet with his own gun, according to police. The shooting happened in the home’s backyard.
The suspect was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
