NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - One Madison woman is moving out of her home for a few reasons, but one of them is car thefts. This all comes as two teens were arrested after they stole an SUV at gunpoint, drove to her street and fled the car Wednesday night.

After four years, Amanda Schuster is picking up and leaving her Channing Drive home.

“Now, I’m kind of like ready to go,” she said. A month ago, she had her car broken into.

“They broke the back window, ripped open the steering wheel column, and then I had to go get it fixed,” explained Schuster.

This week another car theft happened blocks away. Wednesday night, Metro Nashville Police said two boys, ages 15 and 16, stole a GMC Terrain at gun point from an apartment complex off Due West Avenue. They said the teens drove the car to Channing Drive, the same street Schuster lives on. That is where they left the car, got into a Kia with three others, and that car was stopped minutes away on Dickerson Pike.

Carjackings like this is why Schuster has been extra cautious.

“I’ve been a little paranoid and I’ll read the police reports and there’s been a lot more,” she noticed.

When Schuster heard the details of this week’s carjacking, she said it was another incentive to move out.

“Not shocked at all,” she said. “There were three cars on the night they tried to steal by car they tried to steal two other cars in this neighborhood.”

WSMV4 asked MNPD how many carjackings have occurred in that area this year. They said they can’t provide that number since a carjacking could be several different charges.
