Thieves wanted for pickpocketing 93-year-old man in Costco parking lot

PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV/Gray News) - Police in Oregon say three men are wanted after they were caught on camera pickpocketing an elderly man in northeast Portland.

Portland police said the incident happened on May 9 in the parking lot of the Costco in the 4800 block of Northeast 138th Avenue.

Authorities released a security video appearing to show the men in question taking the 93-year-old man’s wallet out of his left back pocket before leaving the scene.

According to police, the victim’s credit cards were used a short time later to purchase hundreds of dollars in gift cards at a Fred Meyer store in the Portland area.

Detectives said the group has carried out similar crimes in the Pacific Northwest and are warning others to stay vigilant.

The Portland Police Bureau urged other victims or anyone who may recognize the thieves to contact them at 503-823-0000.
