Customers furious after dry cleaners suddenly closes, not giving back their clothes

MIAMI (WPLG) - Tempers were boiling over this week at a Miami-area dry cleaning business.

Customers could see their clothes inside Majestic Cleaners but were unable to pick them up.

“A text said to come and pick up your clothes because they’re evicting the owners, but when we showed up the place was closed,” said customer Abraham Alvarez.

The text reportedly told customers to pick up their items for a final time through 4 p.m. Friday.

However, the doors were closed by the afternoon, and an hours-long line of customers was outside.

“I took the day off today early to come and pick up the clothes … Now, I’m here and there’s all these people and nobody can pick up their clothes,” said customer Iris Rivera. “I have like over $300, $400 of clothes in there.”

No more customers were allowed inside, and business doors were barred shut.

“I was the last person about to get in and the lady closed the door,” said customer Jose David Suarez. “She said they had a court order by the judge to close.”

Majestic Cleaners and the property manager of the complex did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
