Teen found after being shot, killed near Antioch church identified
Hale was shot in the area late Wednesday night and eventually collapsed behind the church building.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Update: Police have released the identity of a teenager shot and killed behind an Antioch church late Wednesday night.
Metro Nashville police said officers are making progress in their investigation into this shooting that killed 18-year-old Rickey O. Hale behind Lakeshore Christian Church on Bell Forge Lane.
Hale was shot in the area late Wednesday night and eventually collapsed behind the church building. Police said he was found at about 8:40 a.m. The investigation reminds active and ongoing.
Earlier: A homicide investigation is underway after a body was found in Antioch on Thursday morning.
The body was discovered sometime Thursday morning in the 700 block of Bell Road.
Officers on the scene told WSMV4 they are investigating this as a homicide.
Police said the man is believed to be in his 20s or 30s and gunshot wounds were found on his body. No other information has been released at this time.
