Fuel mix-up at Tennessee gas station may have damaged cars
It’s believed regular gas and diesel may have been switched, leading to damage, authorities said.
MCEWEN, Tenn. (WSMV) – Tennessee authorities are warning drivers a fuel mix-up at a local gas station might have caused damage to their cars.
Reports about “problems” with vehicles have been filed by drivers in Humphreys County after they purchased fuel at the “That Damn Store” convenience store off Highway 70 East in McEwen.
“It is believed that the gas and the diesel have been switched,” the Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.
The owner is asking drivers who have had issues after purchasing fuel at this gas station in the last week to report any damages to investigators.
“(The owner) is making every effort to get to the bottom of it,” the sheriff’s office said. “Again, a report has been filed with us, and there is an ongoing investigation.”
Updates will be provided as investigators continue to look into the reports.
