La Vergne police searching for alleged bank robber

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The La Vergne Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a person involved in a bank robbery on Friday, May 24.

Police said a man entered the Regions Bank on Murfreesboro Road in La Vergne at about 4 p.m. The person allegedly demanded cash from a teller. He did not threaten the teller with a weapon.

The person took the money from the teller before leaving the bank, according to police.

Police said the person was described as wearing black pants, a blue oversized zip-up hoodie and a shirt that read “Seattle.” The man was also seen wearing a black beanie and a black face covering. The man also wore blue and white shoes and a black backpack with a white pattern.

“If anyone recognizes the subject they should call Detective Nokes at (615) 287-8748 or the La Vergne Police Department at (615) 793-7744. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Rutherford County CrimeStoppers at (615) 893-STOP (7867),” police said.
