Flamingos 2
Gemini SouthNear-IRLast Modified:FLAMINGOS-2 is a near-infrared imaging spectrograph at Gemini-South, offering observations in the 1.0-2.4 μm wavelength range in a 6.1 arcmin circular field of view. Imaging long-slit spectroscopy and multi-object spectroscopy modes are offered.

FLAMINGOS-2 was originally built by the University of Florida Astronomy Department and delivered to Gemini in July 2009, where it underwent a series of refurbishments and commissioning runs. It has been in regular queue operation mode since semester 2013B.
