Nestled in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains adjacent to the Coronado National Forest, the course at the Arizona National Golf Club provides stunning scenery as well as a challenging game. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., the course’s design takes advantage of the natural terrain.
The course at the Arizona National Golf Club has a unique location amongst Tucson’s beautiful Santa Catalina Mountains and next to the Coronado National Forest, providing the course with panoramic mountain views and forests of giant saguaros. Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed the layout to closely follow the natural rugged terrain, utilizing the mesquite-lined arroyos and rocky outcroppings that are scattered throughout. The course is challenging, with strenuous uphill holes, forced carries over desert expanses and sloped, well-bunkered greens. Elevated tees and natural water hazards add to the difficulty. The finishing hole is one of the most memorable on the course, with a teebox that is elevated 200 feet above the fairway and a lake along the left side.
Dress code: Collared shirt and bermuda shorts required. No denim.

by Kelly kurpecky on April 15th, 2014 08:19The course is Green again!!! Beautiful. Anyone who played it when it was in disrepair will be shocked at how challenging the course is. They need new carts and to remark the sprinklers with yardage. Also need to give every player divot repair tools!
by R Lessa. on November 07th, 2013 17:41 As of the end of Oct this course is back! Very lush fairways and rough. Greens in great shape. WTer is back on and we played lift clean and place in the fairways. All green side bunkers have new sand. All in all the best shape I've ever seen this course.
by Jay Denton on September 09th, 2013 15:45Last played the course in Feb., 2013. Grass in fairways was practically non-existent. Greens were excellent. Was told no watering of fairways taking place and course, was up for sale. One of my favorite courses in the Tucson area. Hated to see the decline. Hope it's in better shape for 2014. Plan to check it out in January! If it's like it was, it will be my last visit.
by Alex Rodriguez on June 03rd, 2012 17:55Today from friend any I participated along with our young daughters in the Tucson Synchro fund raising event.
We had an unfortunate experience while on the course. We were following a couple of foursomes that at time were slow and had to wait to tee. The group behind us was well aware of the situation.
Around the 9th tee, a ball came was hit from group behind us and went between my friends legs. In the meantime, the foursome behind us kept yelling us to hurry up which we could not because of the foursomes ahead.
On about the 11th tee a ball, again hit by the foursome behind us, flew between my friend and us. That was enough because by this time our daughters decided not to play. We stopped at that time and went back to question the foursome about it. They pretty much laughed it off and said it was "an accident".
We went back to the clubhouse to leave because our daughters did not want to stay any longer.
I approached one of your employees on the way out to find out what we could do. He suggested that we talk to the front desk or submit these comments.
We left shortly thereafter and did not participate in the luncheon.
