Jazz at LACMA Latin Sounds Art & Music Classical Around Town

Jazz at LACMA is back! Join us for evenings of live music, picnicking, and community on the LACMA grounds. The free concerts are presented Friday evenings from April to November.

Jazz at LACMA is a celebration of L.A.’s finest jazz musicians and has featured such legends as Wayne Shorter, The Yellowjackets, Quincy Jones All Star Orchestra with John Clayton, Arturo Sandoval, Jeff Lorber, Billy Childs, Tierney Sutton, Ernie Watts, and many more. Concerts are broadcast on KJAZZ (88.1 FM) every Sunday evening from 7–9 pm and include interviews with featured performers. Jazz at LACMA is produced under the direction of Director of Music Programs Mitch Glickman.

Latin Sounds is back! Join us for evenings of live music, picnicking, and community on the LACMA grounds.. These free concerts are presented Saturday evenings from Memorial Day weekend in May to Labor Day weekend in September.

Latin Sounds features world-renowned artists performing everything from Indigenous music to the latest sounds from Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Mexico, Peru, and Los Angeles! Featured artists have included Dori Caymmi, Costazul, Echo Park Project, Mongorama, and Chuchito Valdes.

Eclectic and cutting-edge, Art & Music, winner of the ASCAP & Chamber Music America Award for Adventurous Programming of Contemporary Music, presents world-renowned performers and composers celebrating LACMA’s exhibitions and permanent collection.

LACMA presents Classical Around Town with the ABC+ Ensemble.

These hour-long concerts feature a string quartet of leading BIPOC musicians performing family-friendly music, with a Q&A to follow each concert. These fun, informal, and intimate presentations are geared toward families and those who enjoy and want to learn more about classical music in an informal setting. These concerts will take place in various locations around Los Angeles.

The ABC+ Ensemble includes Chris Woods, Stephanie Matthews, Laurann Angel, and Adrienne Woods. The group varies in size with guest performers, and presents a wide repertoire that takes audiences of all ages through classical music from the past to the present, including works from Black, Latin, and Indigenous composers.
