NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A man was hit and killed in a crash near Percy Priest Lake on Wednesday night, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

Police said the crash occurred on Smith Springs Road near Castlegate Drive at about 10 p.m.

Preliminary information shows that 24-year-old Perry Reed was walking on the right side of the road when a Nissan Altima hit him. The driver of the Nissan stated she didn’t see him and remained on seen.

Police said she did not show signs of impairment.

Reed was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he later died.

“Toxicology testing will be conducted by the Medical Examiner’s Office to determine if impairment was a factor in this fatal crash,” police said.
