NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Multiple fire units were dispatched to a new construction area in the Bordeaux neighborhood early Thursday morning.

According to the Nashville Fire Department, the call came in just before 4:30 a.m. and crews responded to Cliff Drive and Buena Vista Pike for reports of a large fire. They arrived to find two homes in the early framing stages of construction on fire and quickly worked to contain the flames to the affected structures. Heavy smoke was also reported to be visible for miles.

Fire personnel said no one was present at the time of the fire and no electricity had been hooked up to either structure yet. Firefighters spent most of their efforts focusing on preventing the flames from jumping to nearby homes and trees and will spend considerable time putting out hot spots.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
