HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The mother and stepfather of Sebastian Rogers, the missing Sumner County teen, told TV news reporter Nancy Grace they have left their home for work amid the search for the missing 15-year-old.

Katie and Chris Proudfoot appeared on the show, posted to YouTube March 25, and were questioned by Grace about the night of Sebastian’s disappearance. The teenager has been missing since Feb. 26.

The Proudfoots have faced speculation on social media about whether they were involved in their son’s disappearance, which they addressed in an interview with WSMV4′s Holly Thompson. They said they have been cleared in the investigation.

On their appearance on Nancy Grace’s show Crime Stories with Nancy Grace, they addressed and confirmed rumors they had left their Sumner County home while the search for their son continues.

“We were given information that you guys have left the home,” Grace asked. “Is that true?

“Yes ma’am,” Katie Proudfoot responded.

“Why?”

“I’m going back to work,” Chris Proudfoot said. Katie added she left the home to accompany Chris while he goes to work in Memphis.

“Are you concerned about being away from the home while the search is ongoing?”

“Absolutely, I am,” Katie Proudfoot said.

“Then why are you going?”

“Because my son could be anywhere,” she said. “We’re looking everywhere and anywhere.”

Katie Proudfoot said she planned to return to Hendersonville at some point.

Sumner County Sheriff Sonny Weatherford said as of Thursday, there are no new updates in the search for Rogers. The United Cajun Navy organized a search for the missing teen.
