FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WSMV) – An 84-year-old woman died in a house fire on Albany Drive near Franklin on Friday morning, according to Williamson County Fire Rescue.

The fire, which started around 1:30 a.m., spread quickly through the home, as more than a dozen firetrucks and tankers responded to the scene.

The three others in the home managed to escape, Williamson County Fire Rescue said.

“It’s been devastating, I think everyone is just sort of in shock, it couldn’t have happened to nicer people,” neighbor Kara Dean said. “We’re kind of banding together to make sure they’re taken care of.”

Neighbors in the Albany Pointe neighborhood started pooling together gift cards and other items to help the victims. Flowers of sympathy were placed beside their mailbox.

“I hope they know that the whole neighborhood is behind them, that we love them,” Dean said. “It being Easter weekend, we hope they see it as a new beginning for them and that they feel our love.”

Investigators haven’t yet determined what caused the fire.
