Nashville traffic stop leads to cocaine, fentanyl bust

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – More than 200 grams of cocaine cut with fentanyl was seized during a Nashville traffic stop on Thursday.

Kendrick Eubanks, 37, is charged with possessing more than 150 grams of controlled substance, fentanyl or a derivative, cocaine possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to police.

A Metro Nashville detective saw Eubanks driving a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee on Hermitage Avenue Thursday night and pulled him over after he failed to use his turn signal, according to an affidavit.

The detective reportedly saw a white powdery substance and a digital scale in plain view during the traffic stop.

Upon searching the Jeep, the detective found 200 grams of “a white powder substance that appeared to have been broken off of a kilo brick,” the affidavit said.

Eubanks told police the substance was cocaine, police said. It field tested positive for cocaine and fentanyl mix.

Police found other evidence related to illegal narcotics sales, including $6,000 in cash and sandwich bags.

Eubanks remains jailed as of Friday morning.
