Mosaic Era

Soon enough people who recognized the enormous potential of the www project started writing graphic browsers. One of these people was Marc Andreessen, a student at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA). He wrote this posting on a number of newsgroups on the 16:th of February 1993. It describes a program called Mosaic.

And what a program! You've just got to try it out! It manages all sorts of Internet services. News, WAIS, www, email and whatnot? And the graphics! Some of the pictures can even display in the middle of the documents themselves! Clearly this program was going to change the world of computing. And so simple!
