Campus Safety Officers and Parking Enforcement Officers are responsible for enforcing the Carleton University Parking and Traffic Regulations. All enforcement personnel are designated as private property officers and as such are duly authorized to issue parking tickets/fines on campus.

It is the responsibility of every person using the Carleton University Parking Facilities and Services to conduct themselves in accordance with the Carleton University Parking and Traffic Regulations. Carleton University and Parking Services have zero tolerance for the verbal or physical abuse of university and parking enforcement staff.  Any violation or abuse may result in disciplinary action or sanctions and revocation of privileges.

General Regulations

Out of Service Payment Equipment/Services 

Parking Services offers several payment option is Visitor Parking lots. Some are serviced by Pay by Plate plate machines and all are serviced by HotSpot Mobile payment.  Parking Services endeavors to tend to all inoperative Pay by Plate machines, and access gates promptly. Should you encounter any problems using this equipment, please contact the Parking Services Office at 613 520-3623 or by email at parking@carleton.ca. Parking equipment can experience failures/malfunctions from time-to-time. Alternatively, HotSpot mobile payment/validation is available in every Visitor parking area. This can be accessed with the HotSpot Mobile App or by scanning a posted QR Code with a mobile device. Locations of all campus Pay by Plate stations are also posted on all Visitor lot QR Code signs. If neither the Pay Station or HotSpot option is feasible in a particular , it is expected that another lot would be used instead.  The excuse of free parking is not valid when parking equipment/machines/services are found to be out of order.
