Carleton Student Email (CMAIL)

Carleton’s Student Email, powered by Microsoft’s M365, features 50 GB of storage, advanced search features and great mobile support.

Your email address is firstnamelastname@cmail.carleton.ca

As a student, this is your official Carleton email address that the university uses to communicate important information to you.

Activate your Carleton Student Email

New to Carleton? To get your Carleton Email you will need to activate your MyCarletonOne account.

Go to Carleton Central and accept the terms and conditions for the Carleton email. Then you will need to reset your password to activate your email, it will take 15 minutes for the process to complete.

Access your Carleton Student Email

Once you’ve activated your MyCarletonOne account, you can access your Carleton Email in four ways:

• Log into outlook.office.com  Note: unlike Carleton 360, which accepts just your MyCarletonOne username (firstnamelastname), this is a Microsoft portal and requires your full email address: firstnamelastname@cmail.carleton.ca.
• Log into Carleton360 using your MyCarletonOne account name (firstnamelastname) and click cMail.
• Use your mobile device: configure your smartphone
• Use your Mac/PC’s email application: Outlook or Mac Mail
• Protect against SPAM

Concerned about Privacy?

Email, by its very nature, is neither completely private nor secure, regardless of the type of system being used or where the server is located.  Rest assured, we have put time and resources into ensuring that the Student email system meets Canadian privacy legislation.

Remember:

• Always assume your email isn’t private—your recipients may forward it, or be compromised themselves.
• Before you send an email, consider the consequences if your privacy was breached.
• Always quit your browser after you log out from your email account.

If you also have a Staff Exchange Email account

If you are a student working at Carleton, you may be given a Staff Exchange email account, in addition to your Student email account.

Your student email address is firstnamelastname@cmail.carleton.ca
Your real staff email address is firstnamelastname@cunet.carleton.ca
